Stan's Doughnuts, a Chicago Institution from LA
So I need to tell you about Stan's Doughnuts.
I was spending a couple of days in Chicago, specifically the outskirts and the wise boyfriend decided that to help me beat my jet lag we should get up early-ish and have a Coffee and Doughnut breakfast at this place he and his friends love. Stan's Doughnuts.
Stan's began as an LA mainstay, servicing the Westwood Village area since 1963. In 2018 Stans now has several locations across Chicago thanks to a partnership between Stan’s and the Labriola Baking Company.
It’s sort of like a gourmet doughnut shop, with an eye-catching front display busting with different colours and shapes, we stood there trying to decide what to get. When you walk in, you’re overcome with a scent reminiscent of Willy Wonka’s Invention room, probably.
Sadly we were a day late to get a taste off their Pride doughnut BUT it looks AMAZING.
